Misha Cirkunov in his Super fight with Renato "Babalu" Sobral.

Aiki Krav-Maga is happy to announce the opening of its first class in Canada. The class is offered to children between the ages of 4-6. AIKI Krav-Maga's approach to teaching children is to use martial arts as an educational tool to improve body awareness and physical ability, that will ultimately translate into increased self esteem and confidence. AIKI Krav-Maga teaches the love of movement and exercise through games and challenging activities. The focus is not to create little warriors, but to cultivate a good foundation of athleticism and anti-violence education.

AIKI Krav Maga- Mission Statement
At 'Aiki Krav Maga' we educate and train students to counter verbal and physical violence in order to help decrease violence in our community. Aiki Krav Maga is a martial art method aiming to train students in self-defense through teaching efficient strategies to counter 'street violence' and increasing ones physical and mental abilities. The Aiki Krav Maga method strives to reach a balance between teaching our students values of respect for self and others, kindness, helpfulness, loyalty and humility, with the ability to counter physical violence by responding fast, efficient and in a purposeful manner in order to end the incident with minimum physical injuries.

Aiki Krav Maga - Vision
To encourage the study and practice of the Aiki Krav Maga method in many communities in Israel and around the world. To decrease physical and verbal violence in the communities in which we engage our activities by using our students as anti-violence messengers to their communities.

Congratulations to Kombat Fitness' fighter Joel Hollands who successfully won his third fight in Stratford on Saturday, November 25. With only 8 months of training, Joel has shown through hard-work and dedication how one can quickly learn the art of Muay Thai. Joel has had 3 fights to-date and continues to train for upcoming fights with CAMTAO. With his first fight being a close decision win, Joel began to gain confidence. For his second fight, where he fought an opponent with much more experience, he won by KO in the 1st round. Joel's third fight, which was his hardest by far was another unanimous decision win. Joel's hard work really paid off in the end, where in the third round Joel dug really deep to seal his victory. Joel's trainer and our head Thaiboxing instructor, Kru Edward De Nobrega looks forward to our next competition where Joel and 3 other fighters from Kombat Fitness will be competing at Battle of the Border on Sunday, December 17th. Battle of the Border will be an exciting event with fighters from the U.S battling our own fighters from Canada. For further information and to purchase tickets, please contact the gym. Our Muay Thai Boxing program is growing quickly! We will be adding new classes in the New Year. Classes are for anyone who wishes to compete or who want to learn self-defence or simply to maintain fitness. We cater to all needs and we have a very friendly class environment.

Kombat Fitness is now a proud member of CAMTAO- Canadian Amateur Muay Thai Association of Ontario. CAMTAO is the only legally and officially recognized Muay Thai Association in Ontario. Our Muay Thai instructor Edward De Nobrega is fully certified from CAMTAO to train fighters for all levels of amateur competition in Ontario. This includes A class (0-10 fights), B class (10-20 fights), and C class (20 fights and above). Kombat Fitness is honoured to be working with CAMTAO towards building knowledge of Thai culture and respect to the art and sport of Muay Thai.

Kombat Fitness would like to reach out to the community by sponsoring amateur athletic programs. We hope that our donations will help young, aspiring athletes to achieve their dreams and strive for success. We offer monetary donations, merchandise and use of our facility and equipment as incentives for needy programs. Here is a testament from our first charitable organization, The RYERSON RAMS WOMEN’S BASKETBALL LEAGUE 2006:

“The Ryerson Rams Women’s Basketball League of 206 would like to thank KOMBAT FITNESS for all of their generosity this year. Without their monetary donation, we would not have been able to provide the funding necessary for the league to be run. Their great donation helped us to give female athletes who otherwise would not have a chance to compete, an opportunity to play in a fun and competitive setting. Kombat Fitness also provided us with gift certificates for our Players of the Week and for our Most Valuable Players which our athletes enjoyed very much. Kombat Fitness also sponsored an entire team and rightfully names them TEAM KOMBAT. Currently, Team Kombat is undefeated and holds the top spot in the league. Kombat Fitness’s gratitude and aid has meant so much to us and all the players in the league. Without their help, none of this could have happened and many female athletes around the GTA would not have somewhere to play good, competitive basketball. We would like to extend all our thanks and appreciation to KOMBAT FITNESS! THANK YOU!!
